Default Clearing in plastic bottles

Have several gallons of mead that have finished fermenting and I am ready to rack it off the yeast cake.

I have a few Gold Peak bottles from some tea that I drank. After finishing the tea, I rinsed the bottles and set them aside.

They are 59oz bottles that I figure would be perfect to account for the typical loss after racking.

But are PETE #1 plastic bottles safe for racking before I go to bottling?

I would hazard a guess that since Better Bottles are made from the same stuff, that you would be OK.

They should be fine to use.
