Hi Everybody,

I'm brand spanking new to the site. I just brewed my first batch of cider, but I've been watching my boyfriend and cousin make their home brew for over a year now. I tried to learn from their mistakes, and I finally got brave enough to try something of my own. Since our fridges had lots of beer, I figured I'd bring in some diversity with the cider.

I had this thought the other day, when I looked at our fridge after a gathering of friends came over. We had started with a fridge full of home brew. Friends brought things you can drink, but probably don't want to. Somehow, the next morning, there were 2 home brew left and dozens of terrible cans. And I wondered... how did those two, beautiful brews create so many ugly children overnight?

Welcome aboard from Greenfield. Enjoy the show!
I'm brewing up a Graff today. Kind of a malty cider. It sounds interesting.
Do a thread search.

Michael

... clearly, you haven't yet become acquainted with the South Shore crew...

Welcome, from way out in the boondocks!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. I'm brewing my first beer on Thursday. I'm going to do the Brewer's Best American Amber kit, but fancy it up with a liquid yeast starter instead of using the dried that comes with it. I've officially watched/assisted with 3 beer brewing sessions, plus my own cider brew day, but this will be my first beer for myself.
Also, I found the Graff recipe.
