Well I just made another batch of hefeweizen today. While doing so the thought came to be that I should use how many beers I drink to time the mashing and boiling. It goes something like this:
1) Draft a beer (or pour one from whatever), preferably one that you are making now. Drink (duh).
2) Mash the grains.
3) Draft another beer, drink.
4) Draft another beer, drink.
5) Sparge
6) Draft another beer, drink.
7) Boil, add bitter hops.
8) hydrate yeast
9) Draft another beer, drink.
10) Add bitter hops
11) Finish beer
12) Into fermenting primary, add yeast from step #8
13) Seal, put on airlock, put it wherever it needs to go.
14) Draft another beer, drink.
6 beers, brew done.
Is this why beer is sold in 6 packs?
