I know hops are used in Beer, but me and a friend were having a discussion today and we couldn't figure out what else you could use them for.
You can't bake with them or make any kinda food with them that we know about.
Anyone out there have any other uses for them ?

Kill all the neighborhood dogs with them.

KIDDING!!!!!!!!!

I have two dogs.............. animal lover here. Jesus Christ, don't everyone flip out on me now.

I've heard of picked hop shoots. They used to be used as an antiseptic. They also have preservative qualities.
Hops are used as an herbal medicine as well.

Putting a muslin bag in your pillow and it's sedative properties will help you sleep.

I've heard of hop tea, but I don't know how to prepare it.

I have a buddy of mine who has some SERIOUS northern brewers growing in his yard. He said he makes a tea and drinks that.

Just dont let it sit overnight - he took the last swig the morning after and bitter was an understatement.

They make hop pillows that are supposed to help you sleep. I bet you would have amazing dreams of glorious hop fields that you could romp about in.

You can steam fresh hops and eat them.

Hops also have sedative properties, so hop teas are often used as a sleep aid.
