Just picked one up from a local beer & wine warehouse, $5 for a .3 Liter flip top bottle, I just read about the style several nights ago on another website (BA) I will drink it tomorrow night and post tasting notes.

That's a fine beer right there if it's fresh and well handled between Dusseldorf and you. My son gave me 6 for Christmas last year. 5 were excellent, one seemed slightly oxidized, but not so much I didn't enjoy it.

I like that site so much I pass on the link on here when I can. Lots of good info on there. Not to mention showing what a beer looks like,bottle & all,with a good description.

Neat bottle and a nice brew. My bottle store carries that and the doppelsticke. The doppel was good...but surely different.

Northern Brewer has a kit for a Super Alt that's inspired by these beers. I've been tempted to try it for a while but I'm still working through an excess of other base malts.
