What's the deal with grain prices at Northern Brewer? Gone up considerably over past few months. Still reasonable at Midwest.

Also email deals for NB and Midwest are all the same. Sounds like maybe one acquired the other. Not good if a sack of Golden Promise is now selling for $90 at NB and $63 at MW.:(

Sounds like there would be common management. My fear is that MW will follow NB in price. Right now I can buy a sack of Golden Promise at Fiftypoundsack for $5 less than NB and that is the delivered price. Something does not seem right here. This price jump seems to have happened about the same time as this "Maillard Malt" thing started (whatever that is). NB used to have good prices for ingredients but that appears to be changing. Maybe new management?

Sorry, Just venting.

Maybe NB is raising their prices a bit to cover the cost of flat $7.99 shipping on all orders til Dec 25th???

Holy Moly. You guys are paying $72 for Briess and $68 for Rahr 2-row?

In California of all places, I buy my 50# Great Western 2-row $39.15/sack ($0.78/lb) at my LHBS. Even losing the full-bag discount (i.e., weighed, scooped and milled for you into a recipe bag), it's only $1.26/lb.

Redbeard, Good point, but the $7.99 flat rate usually did not apply to sacks. Not unless they are using the higher price to subsidize the other items shipping.

Also, just noticed your location. Cold enough for you this morning?! I'm freezing my strobiles off!!
