14 lbs pale
1.5 lbs flaked barley
1 lb rolled oats
1.4 lb roasted barley (I want the coffee!)
1 lb chocolate malt
1 lb 80L
.5 lb special B

Mashed @ 152 sound reasonable?

75 IBUs

or

1 lb special B
.5 80L

Thoughts?

WAAAAY too much roasted barley. I never go over .5lbs, even with Imperials. Too much of it, and your beer will taste like burnt oatmeal more than coffee. If you want coffee, add some.

1lb Crystal
.5lb Special B

That's my choice. If you add a lot of Special B, you'll end up with a more raisin/caramel like flavor, but I doubt you'd even pick it up against the chocolate and roasted. This is really a malt that shines in Belgian style beers more than anything.

I disagree w/ the previous poster, I use almost 1.5lbs of it as the sole roasted malt in 6.0% ABV stout, and I find the flavor exceptionally delicious.

I would however drop down the quantity of flaked barley, and maybe a little bit on 80L too. Enjoy your RB monster!

*Goes to make an imperial version of aforementioned RB stout*
