Anyone have an all cascade recipe for a pale or IPA. I have a pound of fresh dried whole hops and I'm looking to put them to good use. Grain bill is wide open but I do have plenty of base 2 row malt, Munich, crystal 20 and wheat.

All recipes welcome :mug:

9.5 pounds of 2 row, hand full of everything else, mash it like 156 for 60 minutes

couple ounces of cascade during the boil, 1/2 oz at flameout, 1/2 oz dry hop

will be a great beer

This, but you can go higher on the flameout and dry hop additions if you want more aroma.

do the can you brew it Mirror Pond. Great beer

Is this the recipe that you would recommend?

Ingredients:
9.5 lbs Maris Otter
.25 lbs Cara-Pils® Malt (Organic)
1.0 lbs 2-Row Caramel Malt 40L
0.5 oz Centennial (10.0%) - added first wort, boiled 60 min
1.0 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 15 min
1.0 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 10 min
1 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 5 min
1 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 1 min
1 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added dry to secondary fermenter
1 tsp Whirlfloc Tablets (Irish moss) - added during boil, boiled 15 min
2 ea Fermentis S-04 Safale S-04

Mash @ 150 for 60 mins. This is my third shot at cloning this beer. I started out with the BYO recipe and it wasn't quite there, so the second time around I modified it and went overboard and turned it into an IPA.

This time around I used Maris Otter(and a bit less of it) and the 04 yeast and it came out very similiar to Mirror Pond. MP is SWMBO's favorite beer and she says it's spot on. I'll post a side by side for you guys as soon as I can.

This has been in the bottle for a few months and is getting better weekly. I woudn't recommend this recipe if you're looking for something that is going to be finished in three weeks - this one needs some time to age before it's ready.

I'm going to find out.....I like Cascade enough that YHPA became my first batch after the sauna that was this Summer subsided enough for me to fire up the burner. Also liked the idea of all that Munich & Vienna in there.....all I have to do now is wait until it's drinkable. Glad I read this post; reminds me that it's about time I went down and dry-hopped.

Yeah, if you like hops, dryhopping is a lot of fun. I don't have much interest in malty pale or amber ales (with the exception of Octoberfest, which I just buy since I don't lager), and I find myself dryhopping a lot of them.

Here's my IPA version and it turned out great! Bitter and slightly hoppy with some malt backbone. Aroma is very floral. Crisp and refreshing.
