Grain bill
5lb. white wheat
5lb. German pilisner
1lb. unmalted wheat
1lb. cara vienna
Hops?
1oz. sorachi ace; 45min.
1/2oz. Kent Golding; 30min
1/2oz Fuggle; 15min.
1/2 sorachi ace; 0min.
White Labs WLP400 Belgian Wit
Not Sure if Kent Goldings belong in this brew? I also have perle, and organic palisade hops to work with, All from freshops.com. Any sugestions on a different hop schedule?
 
I think you proly want to switch the wheat. Wits traditionally rely on unmalted wheat as opposed to hefes that really on malted. I used flaked wheat in my recent wit...
 
the sorachi are out of place here. If I remember with out looking it up, you should not have a flavor or aroma addition in a wit. I'd bitter with either the fuggle or EKG - both are to style. I just made a wit with only goldings as a single 60 min addition.
 
I just brewed this and other than not having a very strong spice profile, it turned out exactly as I wanted, I hate corriander....lol
5.0 lb Belgian Pils
4.0 lb Wheat Flakes
0.5 lb Oats (Pregelatinized Flakes)
1.0 oz East Kent Goldings (5.0%) - added during boil, boiled 60.0 min
1.0 ea Whirlfloc Tablets (Irish moss) - added during boil, boiled 15.0 min
0.8 oz Orange Peel (dried) - added during boil, boiled 5.0 min
0.8 oz Bitter Curacao/Bitter Orange (Peel) - added during boil, boiled 5.0 min
.5 tsp Corriander crushed - added during boil, boiled 5.0 min
.5 tsp Black Peppercorns - added during boil, boiled 5.0 min
1.0 ea WYeast 3944 Belgian Witbier
