Hey guys,
I used a SS scrub pad as a hop filter wedged under my dip tube and I noticed that a ~1" wide grey film had formed a ring around the hop bag for my hop spider and around the inside of the kettle, both at the level where the boil roughly started.
Never saw this before and I can only think that steel residue/powder came off the scrubby in the boil.
Anyone had this happen to them before?
Hoping there's not any/too much in the carboy now. The OG sample tasted fine.
