REALLY dumb question about Blichmann Quick Connects

Ok so I ordered 2 sets of these thinking they were QD's oh well..ill use them somewhere. But how the hell are they used? Where does the O-ring go? Any picture or diagram would be very helpful. And I realize how dumb this question is but im really confused. And the pics on the Blichmann site are worthless.
 
Anything with a male 1/2in NPT.

For example, your march pump treads, or if you installed a male 1/2in treaded coupler to the output on a ball valve from your kettles.
