when using my march pump, i understand that i have to prime it first to get it going. but, what about once it pumps all the liquid out of my pot and then runs dry? or do i have to babysit it by standing there watching to make sure it doesn't run dry?

Do not let it run dry for long. As I understand it the fluid partly lubricates and cools the pump head.

Yeah, you have to stand there and baby sit it for 1 minute while it transfers and runs dry.
Then you have to stand there and baby sit it while you turn off the valve.
Then you have to stand there and baby sit it while you start the boil.
Should I go on?
