Hello guys, I did a while ago an IPA and used the Fermentis US05 yeast, but I'm not sure that's yeast might give me a flavor and aroma typical of West Coast beers.
What do you think of change of yeast?
Thanks in advance bros

If looking for a dry yeast try BRY-97. It actually states west coast ale on the package.

But one suggestion is to aerate well and consider two packages hydrated for 5 gal.

Also wash the yeast cake I'm told it improves in later generations, your second Gen should start up very quickly and be very active.

You can try to culture your own starter out of yeast from bottles with the flavor you are going for. I believe Sierra Nevada is generally confirmed to be bottle conditioned and harvestable.

I look for a yeast to balance my body, aroma and flavor of hops in beer, and the resulting clear and dry beer as the West Coast beers.

Start my own yeast culture? Can you explain better what you are trying to convey? I do not quite understand the meaning of his answer.

Sierra Nevada is 1056 . Chico strain, readily available and similar to us05

I am personally skeptical that there is that much of a difference between US-05 and "west coast" IPA yeasts. If there is one, it will be very subtle.

I do not know much about yeast, and has tried to make the Internet a picture with each yeast could favor the beer, but do not know which found nothing.
