I'm not familiar with Kansas City homebrew stores, but I saw that 'Brew Your Own' magazine lists 3 shops in Missouri.

There are various other online resources for ordering yeast & other supplies. Do you know the type or strain of yeast you are looking for?
For ales, US-05 dry yeast is a clean, neutral flavored, yeast suitable to many styles of ales. As long as the packet is fairly fresh, it should have not problem fermenting your beer.
