Hi everyone. I made my first batch yesterday. I did everything correctly except I messed up on the yeast. I had one of the packs where you bust the small pack inside. I forgot to do that. Instead, I busted it and added it to the mix imediately. Do I need to add new yeast? What will happen with my existing batch? Thanks for the help.

Those inner packs contain some wort to get the yeast into an active state prior to pitching. I don't think you will need to use more yeats at this time although it may take 24 hours to see activity.

As long as the yeast wasn't expired you'll be fine so check the date just to be on the safe side. But as others have stated it will take longer to start. If you don't see any activity in a few days then consider pitching more yeast.

The pack is up to date. Great tips! Would adding more yeast if there is no activity after a few days throw off my batch?

Yeast is pretty expensive to just add more if things aren't moving quickly. Use your hydrometer and you will know whether or not fermentation is taking place / complete.
