Beersmith always recommends i use a 2.5 liter starter. Everything I read online says a 1L starter is plenty for a 5 gal batch.
I have has a consistant off flavor in my beers that I describe a yeasty and was wondering if that is because I am not using a large enough starter.
Thoughts?
