OK all!!!

I have never made a yeast starter but I figured I would try with my brew today. I am using a dry yeast (Safale SO-005) Americal Ale. I am using an amber malt (3/4C) and 2C water, boiled and then cooled. I will pitch the yeast into this small batch and then hopefully within 2 hours it will be ready to go.

Thoughts or comments are suggested as I have not done this before.

You don't need a starter for dry yeast, just rehydrate it and you'll be golden
