I made a starter last Sunday with intentions of brewing on last Tuesday. Here it is Thursday and I won't be able to brew until Saturday morning. Will it still be good???

Taste the starter, if it tastes good then use it. As long as you were sanitary with making it. I would say step it up just to see if everything is still ok then pitch it

hijack!

I just made a starter.. and am cooling it now.. but it looks like all my DME didnt disolve (there are floating particles in it now).. should i make a new one with less dme or is it ok??

I used 4 cups of water, 1 cup dme..

thanks

aekdbbop: Just hit it with a whisk (sanitized) for a couple minutes, that will break up the clumps and also aerate.

OP: Keep the starter in the fridge until you need it, make sure you let it warm up to room temperature before you pitch.
