Halp! So normally I use WLP001. I'm brewing a new recipe and switched to dry English WLP007. So I made my starter, and set my yeast out plenty of time ahead. Did all of the starter checklists, shook the crap out of the yeast vial, pitched it in my Erlenmeyer, shook that and set it up on my stir plate. Now I'm watching chunks of yeast sediment swirling around and not breaking up. Any suggestions on to get them to break up? Will they do it on their own? Thanks!

As the yeast begins to work the lump will rather quickly break apart. Normal for vials of yeast that has become compacted.

Ok thanks. The yeast was pretty new, so I don't know why it would be that compacted, but it actually does seem like its broken up a little already. Thanks again
