I've made a few kits now from Brewers Best and notice it always says not to rehydrate the yeast and just dump it in dry. Everywhere I seem to read or brewer friends I talk to seem to be confused why it says to do it this way. My question is, should I be rehydrating the yeast before putting it in? So far so good on my batches but just something that has me thinking.

Sorry let me re-phrase. Im not trying to run up a debate. My point in asking is that I know its common practice to rehydrate but not necessary. My reason for asking is is there a reason these kits say to do it that way? I'm still a bit novice when it comes to this and just trying to understand why they want you to do it this way and what the reasoning may be.

Ill continue to poke around the site as to not attract more responses like this
