Yeast fuel

In the kits I buy there is a "yeast fuel" tablet option at $1.49 for a capsule with some sort of powder in it. What with all the nutrient in the wort and spring water I use I'm thinking the buck-and-a-half is wasted.
Thoughts?

never used that brand, but i use a yeast nutrient in all my beers. the wyeast brand nutrient works great and is only like $5 for a vial that'll last many a batch.

I use yeast nutrient in my higher gravity brews, but I don't pay for it. I have a brick of bread yeast from costco (made terrible bread) and I just add a tablespoon to the boil. Works great.

yeast nutrient is generally just dead yeast cells.
