Going to brew my Dunkel tomorrow. Wanna start my yeast now. Best recommendation on pack is letting pack activate for 24 hours after smack. Should I let it sit out at room temp or stay in the fridge for this time frame?

Let it sit at room temperature so the yeast can get warmed up.

Always room temp for growth.

The cold makes yeast go dormant.
