getting ready to start on my keggle. would you install a sight glass? the one i am doing now I'm going to use for my boil kettle
I'm getting another one to useto heat sparge water...

limited funds... where its it more useful?

also is the main purpose to just see volume?
how are they marked? our do you have to do it?

how accurate can you get them?

thanks for any advice,

Sean.

The purpose is to measure your water without having to use a marked bucket or other measuring device. Not necessary on a boil kettle, but still usefull to know total volume before starting the boil and how much is left after the boil when chilled. Definitely handy on the HLT so you know how much water you're starting with and how much you're draining to the mash in and sparge.

Since money is the issue, ,install one in the HLT, then when you get paid again, add one to the BK.

If money is an issue, they aren't necessary. For my mash, I use the marks on the inside of my cooler and for the boil, I use my stir stick turned upside down with marks on it. (It's a calibrated stir stick. Ha.)

Sure, if I wanted to spend the $$, I would install them, but my system works just fine.

nope, would have that thing broke in about 2 seconds....I am kinda hard on equipment anyway,....
