I was thinking about the following the other night and wondered if it would work.

Take one bottle of white wine and add to a demijon and add same volume of water as wine. Add sugar and yeast, leave for a few weeks and then bottle in beer bottles with priming sugar. Would this make a nice sparkling wine?
Obviously there needs to be some more thought put into it that add sugar and yeast but would the principle work?

Well it's an idea but I'm not sure why you'd want to do this.

For the price of the wine and sugar you could probably by grape concentrate to do a gallon batch and make your own proper wine.

You can buy 14 and 21 day kits.

In principle it'll work. A 'Nice sparkling wine' it won't be.

If you want to change a still wine into a sparkling wine, transfer it to a champagne bottle, add priming sugar and yeast. That's how the pros do it. Diluted wine is diluted wine.
