One thing I did not think through when purchasing my parts was. Would the element clear the fitting. I was testing out the fit before I started drilling into the kettle and notice the element does not clear the fitting when it comes back. It is doubled up inside touching itself and the fitting. That and it makes it a little tricky to clamp, I could bend it a little. Is it OK that it is in contact with the fitting and itself?

Contact with the fitting shouldn't be a big deal, but contact with itself could cause spot overheating, depending on whether or not the internal winding extends to the point of contact.

Brew on :mug:

Messed around with it today, Took my time and Bent an extra I have to see if I could make it fit better. No visible damage from bending it, Guess I have to fire it up when I'm done checking for leaks to see if it works.
