Wort chiller question

I recent got ahold of a 50’x 1/2” od coil of copper tubing and was thinking of making a new wort chiller out of it. My old chiller was great in my 3 and 5 gal pots but I now also have a 9 and 10 gal pots which are taller and wider.... so obviously I need a taller chiller.... does anyone else have experience with 1/2” coils? Should I use the full 50’ or half or more of it?

I used the full 50'. It sticks out a bit on a 5 gallon batch but not on a 10 gallon batch.

Yeah I used a full 50 myself, did this way back in 90s and still using it.
