The story starts like this. I am a volunteer cook this weekend at a large swim meet. Today it was 95 degrees and we had 10 jet burners going to keep up with the demand for fried foods today. We had 6 4x4 box fans running to help with the heat. So, after I had drank plenty of beer, I will not tell you which brand, I got to thinking, ( this is sometimes a dangerous thing), if we take one of those water misters hoses, that are made for hanging around a canopy, and quick tie it to the front of the fan, and then hook up my wort chiller in line with the water hose and place the chiller in a bucket/cooler of ice water, that the fan should put out some pretty cool air with this setup. Well, let me tell you, it worked out so good that we had at least 10 cooks all trying to get in front of this one fan to try to get cool. At the end of the day, we were all calling it a poor mans evaporative cooling fan setup. In 10 hrs we only used 20 lbs of ice.

I am sorry for not having a photo of the setup.

OK, check this link out, http://mistymate.stores.yahoo.net/100900.html, it is the closest thing I can find to what we were using. We just quick tied it to the front mesh of the fan, hooked up 5 ft of water hose from the faucet to the wort chiller then a short piece of hose from the chiller to the mister (I think it was about 2 inches) and then turn the water on. Today we had the chiller in a 10 gallon water cooler with salted ice and let me tell you it was sweet.
I drank way to much again today so this is the best description I can give to you.

Todd
