At the end of the day, these things shouldn't bother you on a daily basis. Your criticizisms are very unique in their somewhat awesome basis in fact.

"Signage"

Can't we just call them signs?

Price point.

"I can't afford it at that price point"

WTH is wrong with "at that price"?

I can understand the frustration of these 2, but it should not be the words/phrase that you are hating on. Just the stupid people using them in the wrong context to make themselves sound smarter.
1) I have used signage at work as in "we need to sort out the signage" to discribe the act of detailing, procuring and installing signs. you do not use signage when talking about a sign.
You are correct that if you don't want to pay a cetain price for something, you can't afford it at that price. You have nothing to do with the price point - that is set by the seller and is more than just the price he wants to sell something at.

Airy - when describing a room.

Airy? What does that mean? Did someone leave a fan on? Is there a draft?

Why can't they just say bright? Invariably, that's what people seem to mean.

So if you installed a 1500W high pressure sodium bulb in one of your closets that room would then meet the criteria?

Omg! this living room Space is Epic.
the Fiscal cliff is going to affect the Zombie apocalypse and the Drinkability of this session IIPA.

it only took me 10 months, but you're welcome.

this will be cross-referenced to the coffee table book, but it belongs here too:

the idiot announcers who have been calling the Redskins' games the last 2 weeks, Dick Stockton & Ronde Barber.

they've referred to the team as the "Boston Redskins" more than once each, the "Boston RED SOX" once, said "Robert Griffin JUNIOR" several times, called Roy Helu, "Roy Hello Jr" and kept saying "Brian Orapko"

learn their names, you friggin morons, that's your friggin job

LGBTQA
Irregardless
Open Minded

Those all get my fur up.

Irregardless of me being open minded. It's not so open that my brain is gonna fall out. So let's not put labels on the LGBTQA community.

I have to admit, I can't hear the term GLBT (or whatever form you choose to use) without thinking it should be some type of sandwich...

Goat-cheese, lettuce, bacon, tomato?

Gravy, Limburger, bacon, turkey?

Hate Crime. It's either a crime or it isn't. You can't know what's in someone's head or heart, and -- in the USA -- you can't constitutionally punish someone for what's inside their head (even if it is completely stupid and immoral).

3rd world country used to refer to an under developed country stop using it wrong dang it.

I never actually knew the true meaning of the 1st/2nd/3rd World designation until I read about it in an article on Cracked a while back. Pretty interesting.

The way I learned it, first world was a country aligned with NATO, second world was a country aligned with the Warsaw Pact, and third world was a country not aligned with either.

Since there's no Warsaw Pact anymore, it's not a valid term.

I can't remember the exact article...I'll have to hunt for it later. EDIT-found it: http://www.cracked.com/article_19676_5-ridiculous-cold-war-myths-you-learned-in-history-class.html

Basically, Rhumbline is correct. I remember learning in school that it was based on industrialization and standard of living, but really it was related to a country's stance in the Cold War. 1st World was the democratic/capitalist countries (US, Western Europe, Japan, etc.). 2nd World was communist/socialist (USSR, Cuba, NK, etc.). 3rd World was everyone else.

One that comes up a lot this time of year: "Gift," used as a verb. ("He gifted me a new sweater.")

Designations such as "not/not". That second not just seems superfluous. And even worse is that people think it looks cool so once one person uses it everyone else adopts it.

Because it is sooooooooo much more effort to say "He gave me a new sweater as a gift"... people are just getting lazier and lazier with taking shortcuts to reduce the amount of words they have to say :D

Ok, this one needs more explaination. what the hell is a not/not?

I am not exactly sure myself. I never really ran across it until I started contracting with the government. Methinks it is someones way of expressing that something is not cool only with extra emphasis. I will have to ask some of the offenders I work with.

My seasonally appropriate one is "Merry Xmas!"

We're not celebrating the birth of Malcom X, the holiday is to celebrate the birth of Christ. It's ok if you don't follow those beliefs but then stick to the generic "Happy Holidays"

was watching the Spike Lee movie "Malcolm X" the other day and wondered why the first 9 weren't on DVD

It's more appropriate for easter, imo.

(Nailed it!)
