So I have less than 1 week to serve a Scottish ale and forgot about adding the oak chips, should I just throw the chips in or make a tea of the chips? Has anyone done that before? Thanks for your thoughts.

1 week is perfect for chips, add them directly now. 1-2oz should do it. If it's still not oaky enough for you, you can always add some oak tea at bottling.
