I wasn't able too find a whole lot of stuff in the forums on this yeast blend, so I decided that I'd share my experience with it during this brew session. In the research I did find on this strain, it seemed that simple grain bills and patience was needed for it.
Here is my plan, the recipe is Jamil's BDG from Classic Styles:
12.5lbs French Pilsner Malt
3.25lbs Munich 20l
90min mash at 147'F
Steeped separately
.75lb CaraVienna
1.0 oz. black malt
2 step batch sparge to roughly 7.5gal pre-boil
add 1lb cane sugar
90min boil
2oz. Fuggles 60min
chill to 60-64'F
Pitch 1.5l of 36ish hour WLP670
Im thinking or 3 weeks in the bucket than do an extended stay in a secondary for as long as I can stand it.
Starter was started last night, brew day is tomorrow. And i'll keep posting till the keg is empty. Enjoy.
