WLP1318 blow off tube or not

Doing a NEIPA on Friday using Wyeast 1318 London Ale III, Target OG 10.060 and no starter. Plans for 5.5gal'ish in the carboy and finishing with 5gal in keg. The Carboy is 6.5gal......should I be safe and place blowoff tube or will it be good on an airlock? Thanks!

I put just over 5 gallons in 6 gallon Better Bottles and use a blow off tube EVERY time. Some blow, some don't

Very active yeast...I call this one an overachiever. 4 days and should be done so a BO tube is very helpful as well as adequate headspace in your fermenter.

Looks like blowoff tube it is...would have went with one just for safety probably but I like getting the input from here. Always top notch help and super quick! Thanks!!

I used a 7G chronical for 5.5G into fermenter and the high krausen mark was probably an inch from the lid. If you use a BO tube with the 6.5G carboy you should be safe.

For the ultimate in white-knuckle rides, keg ferment with 1318, ferm cap and a spunding valve.

I wish I had in this batch when I used 1318. That's a 7 gallon Fermonster.

I see I am not the only 1 who tried this, hope you had better success than I did.
