you need to have the controller trying to heat or cool, the little LED's on the STC1000 if they aren't requesting heat or cool nothing will happen. What is your setpoint set to? If its not below or above the temp in the garage nothing would happen.

Controller was trying to cool....... From what I could see. Set point was whatever comes out of the box: 10 deg C I think?

I will have another look at it tonight and send pics if it is of any help.

That is a very generous offer! I am determined to learn this and am going to make a really big effort to fix this. Plus I am in Canada and shipping alone might cost the same as buying your unit! :)

I should probably modify the thread. (If I knew how) because I didn't install two outlets like I said I would. Oh well - plans change! I still have that as an option in the future if I want to. I can just add the second outlet on the other side and replace the existing outlet since I broke the bridge.

Have a? About this wiring diagram. Am I correct in the neutral wires for the heating and cooling outlets are being connected to the silver set screws and the red and blue wires are being connected to the gold screws. Any help would be greatly appreciated

That is correct MarkO.
Make sure to break the tab between the two gold screws.

Wired it up thus afternoon and everything seems to be working as it should. Green led comes on when calling for cooling. Red comes on when calling for heat. Now to actually get a freezer and put it to the test. 10mmKid I did not break the gold tabs. Is that going to screw me when I actually hook it up to the freezer?

if you didn't separate the two circuits they are likely both being turned on regardless if the call is for heat or cooling
