Looks to me like he is using something like this foot rail bracket which attaches to the bar and rests on the floor.

Edit: Except of course not brass.

Exactly, the dual bracket gives you the most support for the foot rail.

You can hook your feet under the rail preventing you from falling backwards making a drunken fool of yourself, it can happen (again).

Yes sir. I'm supposed to epoxy the bar top tomorrow, that is the last major project. Then the grand opening is this Thursday for the Bears-Miami game. So sometime after Monday I will clean it all up purty and take final pics.
