I bought a kit, the estimated ferment time was 3 weeks. I followed the instructions to the T. I added Go Ferm, DAP, Potassium Carbonate and Campden that came with the kit as directed. It came with 6lbs of wildflower honey. I've made wine before that has came out beautifully. This was my first time even tasting mead. I was just wondering if it was supposed to smell like that?
I don't know how else to describe the smell. Maybe slightly sulferic. But it tastes fine. Just like the name suggests like honey water.
