New member here. Been all grain brewing for 10 years with a few breaks here and there. I am back at it 100% and disgusted with my local shop in Vegas. Looking for a place I can order large quantities of hops and bags of 2 Row without paying the middle man mark up. It seems the hop market has stayed inflated and I don't want to pay the insane mark up. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Josh

Hopsdirect, freshhops, and farmhouse brewing supply all sell hops by the pound at good prices. 2-row is much harder due to shipping. Austin homebrew or northern brewer is a good place to start

Look for Local Brew Clubs that do group buys. Or start your own. I think with our last group buy we bought over 4000# and got great prices. Group Hop buys are possible also if you order mass quantities and are prepared to store it for the year.

Try Brew Brothers (Portland, OR). $29.95 for 50 lb GW 2-row or $.72 per pound when buying by the pound. Shipping to Las Vegas shouldn't be too bad if you can receive at a company address instead of a home address.

Hey Josh - I'm in Vegas too and don't shop at our only brick and mortar homebrew store.

I have been buying from Brewmasters Warehouse and Rebel Brewer; both have been excellent.

Where in LV are you?

I'm in Vegas too and have ordered from Austin, Rebel and some other places since it ends up cheaper, including shipping than our 1 local shop. Austin has free shipping for orders over $100 so as long as you plan out your brew schedule.. your never waiting on ingredients...

Good to see some other Vegas people here!!

Have you tried talking to your local shop? My local shop has grain by the pound kind of high, but a 50lb bag of rahr 2 row was like $40 (And no sales tax!!!)

+1 on this.

My LHBS owner's a cool guy but the shop has few options, high prices, and oudated advice... but 50# bags of 2-row are $10 cheaper than I can get shipped.

Just purchased a 50 lb bag at my LHBS. The lady will even store it for you there, and you can come in and take what you need when you need it. It's at least worth asking about.

I love having More Beer as my LHBS! I can get bags of 2-row for $35 and they're only 30 minutes away from my house. :)
