I was just "talking" in another thread @kev211 and then realized that I have had dinner or drinks with many of my fellow HBT'ers!

I love doing that- when I'm traveling I love meeting up with folks from this forum, and some of my (now) lifelong friends @Homercidal @Pappers_ @lschiavo and more, I have had such a great run of meeting so many people.

Just recently, the trip to San Diego and then to Boston gave me even more dear friends, and I consider @Melana one of the best.

I now wonder if I'm nearing the end of the road of beercations, as I get older and may not go to this year's NHC in Baltimore.

So, let's have it. Give me your best person/reason I should have dinner with another HBT member. Near, or far, it's just for fun to imagine putting us together for a few beers and dinner. I'd love to hear it!

Good grief yoop, give it more'n an hour. Lots of em too busy fightin over all Muslims bein bad or asking if their beer is done.
I keep being told I'm only as old as I feel (some mornings I must be 148) and my vacations get better every year. When was last time you came to cincy? We'd love to have you? A few really good breweries, great food, verified by my abdominal girth.... And best fireworks in the country to end the summer.

I did have the honor of sharing a few of my homebrews with you. Does a sack of salty nuts count as dinner?

If you ever make it back to San Diego it will be my pleasure to motorboat you again. :D

Come up the end of July and I'll grill fresh salmon for you. I'll have beer and probably some wine. I don't drink much wine but I'm starting to. Especially when my pipeline is getting low. I have some pear wine clearing now that should be great with the salmon.

Ever come to Portland/Vancouver area? We'll hook up for dinner and drinks. Just read a article in the local paper that we now have 14 micro breweries in Clark county. I gotta get busy getting out more.

Wait, you're not going to NHC in Baltimore?? Guess I better cancel our plane tickets...

Hey, remember that one guy I met at your cottage a few years ago? He USED to hang out on HBT back then. What was his name? Pewter something? He was cool. I miss him. ;)

Seriously, though, I thought NHC was a BLAST, and part of it was meeting all of the people I met online and just hanging out drinking beer, talking about brewing, etc. So much fun. I'm fairly awkward, socially, and it was still a good time!

I love meeting beer folks! I've met a ton of nice people from here and I would like to keep meeting people! @Homercidal you're on the list...

Oh, Andrew- that was a blast!!!! I still look at the photos I took from the boat, and think of you often. The beer was great, so the salty nuts were a perfect dinner.

At this point, I'm not planning on Baltimore. We're still discussing it, but it probably won't happen. Initially, I talked about driving down to @Pappers_ house, and riding the rest of the way with him but that's still a very long drive.

I've been assured that 2017 is "driving distance" for me by someone in the know. Of course, everything is driving distance if you drive long enough..............

@Conpewter drove up this summer to visit us, while you and your family did not. Just in case you were not feeling a little guilty..............

Cincy's been a while. I went in 2008 for the NHC, and that was the last time I was there. We had an HBT booth at Club Night then, and I met quite a lot of people that have grown and changed and don't participate with HBT anymore, although I "see" some of them on Facebook.

Well, ain't THAT a peach! I respond to your thread that you've not had dinner with me and what do I get? A like!

Point taken Yooper!

Because of where you live. Now, I like you a whole lot. But it's not like I'm going to fly out to visit you in no-man's-land. Other folks have me for a visit, and then show me the sights.

I've been to Cape Cod with @Melana . I've viewed the former Sears Tower and Millennial Park with @Pappers_. I've gone fishing in the Pacific with @agrazela . I've toured the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky with @Richbrewer. I went to Irish Fest with @boostr20, had brisket @PaultheNurse 's house, went to upstate New York for wine tasting with @the_bird (and Paul, too), been driven around to breweries in Grand Rapids by @FSR402 , went cave diving (I stayed dry!) with Chris in Florida, etc.

At your place, we'd watch wheat grow. Or is it corn? :D

@Yooper it is a long drive from Chicago to Baltimore, but doable. Another option is that Southwest flies from Midway to BWI and sometimes some good fares can be had.

That's an idea. As you know, the NHC can be $$$$$ for sure. Even a "cheap" room is over $100/night (usually well over) and the NHC itself is about $275. So even a short "cheap" trip is going to be over $1000.

I have to prioritize my beercations for next year, that's for sure.

Yeah, now that you put it that way . . .

Maybe we could host a few folks here in Chicago?

i'd split it with you...

Yooper you have to come to Baltimore so I can introduce you to real crabs with JO spice. Not that stuff they put on them in Texas! Besides, I already have our room booked a block away. And you have to get to Max's on Fells Point! Hubby's welcome too btw.

Jo Spice has herpes. It was scary spice with the crabs.
