I teach for a living, and everyone's got snow days today. I'm enjoying some Wolaver's pumpkin ale, Beatles BBC sessions, and netflix. Who else is snowed in out there?

Never gets below 35-40 around here. Real snow (not man-made anyway) is a good 2.5 hour drive from here. I have no idea what it feels like to be snowed in, but I love snow, I love cold weather, although I've never experience cold weather less than 25 degrees or so.

Snow? What snow?

I'm at work today. A bunch of people here did not make it in. They are "working from home" today.

P.S. No offense to Bulls Beers...I'm sure you can legitimately work from home but I know the knuckleheads I work with are out playing in the snow, or napping, or watch Soap Operas right now.

Snowed in was us two weeks ago. This time around, the city got less than 10" so nothing at all was closed. I love snow; I just wish I lived somewhere with less people so I wouldn't have to be as concerned with how much it screws things up.

Luckily I work from home so I don't have to go anywhere! We did get quite a bit in Southwestern Ontario last night though.

Agreed that's shorts weather.
-15F just starting to get cold!!!

I know I know. It consistently gets to 110 degrees in the summer though. I would love to feel that cold 0F air in my lungs!

We got about 8-10" but everything seemed to be running smoothly. I was one of the first on my block to shovel, and I ended up shoveling a path 300' to my bus stop and then walking back home, putting the shovel away so I had an easy walk back for the commute to work. Only 10 people on a normally packed bus, but only 1 person in my office didn't show. I think she was out making snow angels and sledding...

Good thing you don't walk to work, 300' is a LOT of shoveling to do. :D

Can I guess you wear dress clothes to work?

I had my snow pants and jacket on over my suit. The snow was light and powdery enough to not cause too much problems, which I why I chose to shovel the sidewalk path to the stop. I'm curious to see whether the neighbors have done anything more than what I did...

Teacher here too. Got "the call" last night and promptly started a brown ale. Wishing I was just north east of you at Sugarbush today. Hell...I'd even take a night in Rut Vegas to ski Killington.

Skied thigh-deep pow at Whiteface all day. It's still coming down, too. This is just what we needed here in the Adirondacks. A real morale booster!

I'm a teacher too...we had 7" early monday morning and have still not been back to school. With an already planned furlough day on Friday and MLK on Monday, I'm off until Tuesday!!!!!! Gotta love the south!

You can say that again. I don't think we would even get one day off for 7".

Jealous. May try to head up to Mount Snow Saturday morning to hit the woods. I'm sure by then the groomers will have ruined the main face.
