Ok so i know to expect some sediment in the bottle if im bottle conditioning and carbing, and i was expecting some slimy stuff... but i can see a white kinda flaky looking thing sitting in the bottom of some of the bottles... Im worried its bacteria. There seems to be only one per bottle that ive seen, and its not big but its not small either. It also looks white... It doesn't float, but sometimes pours out of the bottle when i pour it. Is this dead yeast or something bad?

Can you post a picture? This is the interwebs and on the interwebs it don't exist if there ain't no picture. :)

And I agree, it is probably yeast. Just remember, no micro-organisms that can exist in beer can kill you. :)

Yeast. I pour all but the last half inch or so, so as to enjoy a nice clear (sort of) glass. Then I chug the bottle. It's all good.

You must have some pretty mean farts then! I don't even finish the bottom of commercial beers that are bottle conditioned. I learned the "hard way" with Sierra Nevada pale ale. Even I didn't want to be around me the next day

Keep working on it and your innards will likely adjust to the yeast. If not, enjoy the peace and quiet as everyone gives you plenty of space.:D

The gas aint all it can give you. Some folks are prone to the "yeast quickstep" from not being used to it. Like someone else said your body becomes accustomed to it and regulates the digestive tract to better accept it.

i miss my old smelly farts. i used to love it when the old lady and dog ran out of the room!!! it was the birds falling dead out of the sky that i really don't miss.

if the beer is good then it is just yeast. you'll be fine, everybody else:(?
