Whirlpool Question

I'm in the process of making a keggle and wanted to introduce a whirlpool to my immersion chiller.

Ii'm trying to figure out how far up to install the ball valve and whirlpool theory, in general. Does trub get sucked from the bottom and fed into the whirlpool? Will the whirlpool eventually concentrate the trub to the middle of the keggle enough to where it won't get sucked out?

To some extent. You old also raise your kettles' out dip tube either permanently or temporarily, then let the trub settle for 30 minutes or so and rack off the top.
