I got this hop once called Ranier. Thought it be great for a stout, but it was awful. I can't remember why, there was just some weird flavor in it.

I had a super onion/garlic batch of Summit hops and now I can't stand them.

I have a Mosaic IPA on tap right now and it is just crazy bubblegum right now, oddly enough I like it.

I love grapefruit, so I am a big fan of Cascade.

So the IPA hops are the most disliked in general. Yet IPA is the most popular ale in the present age. Interesting.
I guess that all this is telling us is that you have to use a hop in order to either like ir dislike it, and the IPA class of hops is the most used of all. In the end this survey is likely therefore telling us nothing.

Interesting that you find this thread isn't telling you much. I guess if you're looking to find which hops to use or not use then I can see how it's not helpful for you.

For me, I'm most interested in what different folks get for aromas from different hops. You can have 5 different folks try the same beer and all may get different aromas and I find that fascinating. If you're among those 5 and you're all discussing the beer together, it can help expand your palate and you may help others to expand their palate. Fun!! Reading what folks say about different hops, whether good or bad is the next best thing in my opinion.

I'll also add that I haven't found one NZ hop that I like, some I can tolerate but none (yet) that I'd use again in any of my beers.

Mosaic is a weird one for me. When I first had a Mosaic beer, I loved it, couldn't get enough of it. Then, almost overnight, I started hating beers with Mosaic. Not sure why or what happened, but something changed.

I've been experiencing almost exactly the same thing lately. I had convinced myself I was going crazy, and even used some Mosaic in a recent brew (pale/amberish ale) because I figured I couldn't just stop liking a hop overnight.

I hope with Jwin's suggestions on a brew using up the rest of my Sorachi Ace hops works out. I'm willing to try something to use them up.

I've been using SA as bittering additions with good luck. The boil knocks out the aromatic qualities, and at 11-13% AA, they pack enough punch to do the job.

Technically, those are American hops that are the most disliked, not IPA hops. Citrusy/Piney American hops. They're probably the most liked as well.

BTW, no dislike for Nelson Sauvin? I like them myself, but they are a little, um, unusual.

I'm a fan of Nelson...at least in my homebrews. Best beer I've made yet was a really fruity 7% IPA with Nelson as half of the hop bill. It's got a bit of an odd fruity taste/aroma, but I also get some citrus out of it which I find it really interesting.
