I just ordered the Crankandstein. Im going with the two roller adjustable without the detents. I will make my own base and hopper, and I will get a bucket from a grocery store or restaurant. Now to get a cooler and make my AG dream a reality.

BTW does any one know what the knurl of the Crankandstein is? The Barley Crusher has 12 TPI.

Any suggestions on mounting the mill above or below the base? I will have it above unless someone has a reason to do otherwise.

I mounted my 3 roller CS underneath a board (12" wide scrap) and clamp that to a wall mounted drill press. I cut two saw blade wide slits in the board so I can suspend a 5 gal bucket underneath. If you are going to use some kind of power drive (drill, etc.), I STRONGLY suggest whatever you do make it so you can clamp it down, and not just set it over a bucket. With hard grains like wheat the rollers may bind (particularly if you try for a fine grind like me) and if your set up in not held down well, the whole thing will want to spin around and send grain everywhere.

I just got and tinkered with my CS today. Wow! This thing is hella cool. The crush looks a million times better than LHBS and that is with the out of the box adjustment. I would have to say this was worth every penny.
