Hey everyone, I am contemplating an attempt to build a kegerator. I would love a dual handled rig with enough room inside to be able to cold ferment some lager brew. I am looking to avoid buying a separate fermentation vessel. Any advice on what kind of fridge/mini-fridge would meet these specs? Short on space where I live currently, so the more compact the better, but I'm not looking to throw something together that I outgrow within a few years.

Thanks for any input!

As the above poster suggested, it may also be in your benefit to just cut out some cardboard with the base dimensions and take it to your local lowes/homedepot etc.

If you are looking at an upright fridge/freezer, don't go with a mini. I've got a 4.4cf with removed freezer, and I'm adding a collar just to get two fatter corny kegs in at the same time. It was cheap enough that if I outgrow it in a few years, I'll just CL it and buy something bigger. If I was buying the last unit I'd ever need, just get the giant chest freezer, or two half size freezers and make the collar removable.
