So I got inspired by Not Your Father's Root Beer and decided to brew my own. And I think it is pretty good, not as cloying as NYFRB and maybe good enough to enter in a competition coming up. But what BJCP category?

Here are my guesses:

34C-Experimental (because this beer doesn't really fit any regular category that well);
27-Historical (I did use a tweaked pre-prohibition recipe for this, and the competition I'm entering has just 27A as a catch-all "historical" but category 27 normally has specific styles defined by the BJCP and my beer isn't one of those)
30A-Spice/Herb/Vegetable (because the ingredients include sassafras, sarsaparilla, wintergreen, star anise, licorice root, but this isn't a traditional SHV beer by any stretch of the imagination)
31B-Alternative Fermentables (probably not, because the molasses flavor really isn't prominent, as you'd expect in a root beer, but I'm grasping at straws here).

Or? Any ideas?
One other option is "don't enter it" but hey, that's no fun!
