My first batch has been conditioning for just over 2 weeks now and I had put a couple of bottles in the fridge to cool so I could try it out properly when I got home last night.

It appears that I have a thirsty thief in my midst! Not only were the two 2litre bottles that were supposed to be for my brother and I to sample missing but some of the 1 litre bottles seemed to have disappeared.

I guess my brother in law was over and my wife thought that he would enjoy sampling the brew. They drank a few and then the neighbour came over and he had some and my sister in law showed up so she tried it.

It must be pretty good because they all asked if I could tell them when the batch of bitter is ready.

How do you guys hide your beer so you can actually drink some.:drunk:

Damn, dude. Your first batch and you're not the first one to try it. The wife is just freely giving them away without your consent? She owes you big time in my opinion. Tell her that tonight you're coming home and getting anal. No matter how clean you want the house, she has to do it. :p

Hambone for President, no truer words have ever been written. :rockin:

The only taste was about a week ago just to see if it was ready. It really wasn't. I mean it really, really wasn't. I do get to add a new LCD to the bar I'm building now.

Dude, first batch and you've already got fans. Sucks that they drank so much of it without you, but it's nice that you've already got some hardcore followers.

Same thing happened to me not too long ago, my family came over to help me do some landscaping in the backyard. I had some special brews chilling in the fridge that i wanted to drink afterward.

Half way through my Dad disappeared inside (he's in his 70's so he tires quickly), i thought nothing of it. Then i get done and head inside to crack open the cold beers i had been waiting to drink all day.......they were gone. My Dad had drank all of them........and he doesn't even drink.

hehehe most of the beers I brew are imperial stouts, or double IPA's... I've had people tell me the stout taste like coffee with a cigar in it... Not the most flattering, but hey I figure there is more for me...

The Raspberry wheats seem to be a hit though.

That blows big time. It's like someone playing with your Christmas presents before you get to unwrap them. I would be kind of irritated but at least they liked it.

I make sure the good stuff is hidden away, I keep the fridge stocked with beer from Coopers kits. My friends who drink the mass produced stuff think its the best thing they ever drank. :mug:

But you do have to think about this, maybe your wife was excited and proud and wanted to show you and your talents off. I know when I made my first batch I was handing them out like cigars after a baby was born.

I finally had my first proper pint last night and I can see why they liked it so much.
Yah I think that my wife is happy that I am brewing. I have a cider in the secondary for her right now and she has told everyone and their brother about it. I hope it turns out.
