Brewed 5 gallons of an English ESB Ale. I Kegged and purged it then sealed with 25 psi. It probably won’t be tapped for 3 months or longer. It’s stored in a fridge at 41 degrees. Is there any need to hook CO2 up to it now? I am NOT trying to carbonate the Keg at this time.
Should I just "bump it" with a few pounds of CO2 every week?
Was wonderIng what others do with their full Kegs that are waiting in the "pipeline" ?

Carbonation won't keep the beer any fresher over time, but positive CO2 pressure will help keep the lid sealed if you are using a cornelius (aka "homebrew") style keg. Otherwise, carbonate or don't.

I always put my kegs immediately on gas because I have plenty of fridge space with gas hookups, so they're ready when needed...

Cheers!

Thanx…I have Corny Kegs and just tapped one that’s fully carbonated and have another 5 gallon that’s fully carbonated in the Kegerator on the same CO2 line. Won’t hook up the CO2 on the Keg in Cold Storage but will make sure it has + co2 pressure. Wasn’t sure if it kept the beer fresher or not.
Thanx again
Cheers

If you just pressurize the headspace to seal the lid, and then disconnect the CO2, the CO2 will absorb into the beer from the headspace, lowering the headspace pressure significantly - maybe even enough to allow the lid to start leaking. If you are able, getting the beer at least ~1/3 - 1/2 the way to full carbonation will insure that you have headspace pressure to keep the lid sealed. Not all corny keg lids need pressure to stay sealed, it depends on the condition of your kegs/lids.

Brew on :mug:

When I have more kegs then CO2 taps, the one that's been carbing the longest comes out and the new one goes in. As the keg warms CO2 comes out of solution so the pressure will keep the lid sealed. I make barrel aged beers and they go in the lagerator for 3-4 weeks on CO2 then come out and sit in the corner at 54*-64* until needed.
