Wheat beer vs. wheat IPA

Not a huge fan of the wheat beers (hefes, etc.) but man, I love some wheat IPAs. Especially digging the Accumulation from New Belgium. Anyone else?

I'm typically not a fan of most wheat styles, but Little Sumpin Sumpin might just be my favorite beer by Lagunitas. So yeah, I definitely agree.

Interesting (you made me Google). Have to look for this beer in the store. A lot of the White IPA's use Belgain yeast and unfortunately, the beer takes on that character. Strangely, New Belgium uses ale yeast, so it should be cleaner. I love a big, hoppy American wheat beer. This sounds like a winner.

Definitely agree. If you're lucky enough to be able to get Three Floyd's, their Gumball Head wheat IPA is amazing.

80 Acre is a great hoppy wheat beer.

Sierra Nevada's Snow Wit IPA is also damn good.

They label Gumballhead as an American Wheat, not an IPA. But you are right though, it is amazing.

In your defense, FFF labels a lot of their beers a Pale Ale (Zombie Dust, Alpha King are some popular examples) when technically they are IPAs

Carson's Brewery (Evansville, IN) has a good wheat called the "Eville Wheat". Doesn't say IPA, but it's got a good hop presence.

Deschutes Chainbreaker is also a great white ipa...anyone tried Green Flash's? Just had an Accumulation yesterday...deeelicious

I had no idea...it is usually the first thing that comes to mind when I think of wheat IPAs.
