What's your S/HHMBO's opinion on Beer

I'm lucky. My girlfriend loves everything I brew and can really hold her own, as rdwj and Cheesefood can attest. She has brewed three partial mashes on her home stovetop in the last couple of years and usually is there to help me when I brew.

When we met, she was a Bud drinker, but she soon came to loathe the stuff. She is a hop-head. If there is an IPA on the beer menu, that is what she will order. If there isn't one listed, she'll ask if one is available. Her favorite part of brew day is smelling the hop additions!

Never a good idea on this board to refer to your woman and say she can "Hold her own". We've seen WAYY too many examples of "women" "holding their own".

My wife's a true convert, in many areas of culinary delight. These days, she's a willing taste-tester, and she's been a big fan of most of my brews---save for the pine-tree porter, which I can't blame her, cuz I don't like it either.

She's also gone from only drinking sweet Rieslings and white zins to throwing down on the most badass cab francs from Chinon. A truly impressive evolution if I may say so myself.

And she's even a fan of hoppy beers. A few months back, I and she did a horizontal tasting of all of Dogfish Head's hoppy pales. Shelter, 60-min, Aprihop, 90-min, 120-min. And she didn't bat and eyelash.

My SWBMO, like a few others, was the one who bought me my first equipment--she calls herself the 'Brewhilda' and yells at me for not sanitizing well enough. We both love English beers, so despite her taking her fair share of the beer, I couldn't be much happier. She's even excited for when we get a more permanent place and I can put in a bar.

My wife hates beer, and really isn't much of a drinker, anyway. In college they used to call her "One Can Anne" for obvious reasons.

My fiancee loves lambics and fruit beers, and hates BMC. I'm making a fruit wheat for her now. Not a fan of anything hoppy though, so she ain't touching my IIPA, but she still gave it, and all my others a try, and actually said she could stand to drink my IIPA, quite a lot coming from someone who thinks that SNPA is too hoppy.

My wife is a beer snob and will drink just about anything we make. Not big into the IPAs or anything in that IBU range. She likes to brew with me but she's not as addicted to brewing as I am. She did give me a great compliment last night though, we were at a local brewery for the first time and out of 9 beers in the sampler she said that my beer was way better than 8 of them! I couldn't compete with their traditional German Hefe though...

My wife doesn't care for it at all. The only beer I've been able to get her to drink was a Belgian Kriek.

I'm actually surprised so many of us have SWMBOs who are so averse to beer.

I'm the luckiest EAC here. My wife loves my beer. She enjoys my Haus Pale and my Hefe and while real Hoppy beers are not her style, she'll give them a try anyway before going back to what she enjoys most, a glass of red wine or, in the summer, a vodka & grapefruit juice on the rocks.

My wife fears no beer. She likes everything from the sourest Geuze to the most aggressively hopped IPAs, Darkest of Imperial Stouts to the lightest of Pilsners. All of our vacations revolve around beer in some way. She has even taken more of an interest lately in brewing herself and has made two beers so far that have come out great.

My finance used to not even like beer. She got started on Bud Lite, then she graduated and now she we try any beer that I buy. She doesn't like pale ale's or extreme bitter/hoppy beers. She does however like malty beers. Right now her favorite is Shiner Bock and New Castle. I'm just thrilled that she is opened minded to beers now!!

Mine turned me onto wine and now it's my mission to return the favor. She used to be a "I don't like beer" type but was really a "I haven't found a beer i like type". She's really coming around to malty. Right now Makeson's Triple stout is high on the list. I gotta agree because I really like that beer too.

She'll always try my homebrew when I ask but doesn't really request it. I'm not sure if that's cuz she doesn't really like it, it don't let her near it, or if she's letting me bask in my own labor. She really does appreciate the "homemade" aspect of it though. Puts it up there with gardening
