Is there any difference at all? Let me guess, the euros call it a demijohn?

But seriously... what the heck is the difference?
I asked some dude if he uses carboys and he said no no I use demijohns instead???

A rose is but a rose, however, I always just presumed demijohns to be the oval/spherical glass bottles used in making wine. I'm sure it just depends on who you ask, but i think they are virtually the same thing.

that article does say that the term "carboy" usually refers to the 5 gallon size, while "demijohn" is used for 15 gallon size.

I had a 15 gallon and preferred to call it a "demijohn"

but yeah... semantics and personal preference. if this were verbal communication I would say "either, either" and pronounce them "ee-ther, eye-ther"

Well I guess there it is.....

I think I will spice it up and call them Demiboys or carjons.... lol
