I've been wanting to make a beer based on vienna malt for so long just to see how it ends up tasting. basically i've thought up something like this..

4.5kg (9.9lb) vienna malt
1/2lb caraamber
2oz roasted barley
4oz chocolate malt

0.75oz perle @ 60 min
0.5oz tettnang @ 30 min

with hopefully an OG around 1.051 and fermented at cool temps in low 60s
~25 IBU

will this work? im hoping for an ale with light roasted coffee flavour

or any suggestions?

Looks to me to be similar to an Irish red ale, though with the fruitiness toned down and maybe a little bready toastiness to go along with the coffee-like roast notes. I say give it a whirl!
