Got a pound cause they were cheap. I don't plan on doing a lager (no temp control) and the AA is 1.5, super low.

Thanks guys, been thinking about an Altbier. Would it be a waste of hops to bitter with? It's gonna have to be alot at 60 with the low AA.

"By the Book Heffe"
4.5# Pils
4.5# White Wheat
1oz Spalt @ 60min
Wyeast 3068

I bought some of the same Spalt hops and used them in a American Premium style lager I brewed last week. It also incorporated some Tettanger hops. Here are the basics of what I brewed.

Base Malts:
6lbs Pilsner
2lbs Munich
1lbs Pale Malt
.5lbs Carafoam
.5lbs Melanoiden

Hop schedule was:
1oz Tettanger at 60min
1oz Spalt at 40min
1oz Spalt at 20min
1oz Spalt at 10min

Yeast:
WLP940 Mexican Lager

Still in primary now, and I plan on lagering in keg for 30 days - then carb and bottling from the keg. If it works out well, I plan on putting this into my rotation.

Just tried a low carbonated sample of this beer and it is awesome.

The hop schedule is right on and the beer had a very nice balance to it. I will be brewing a couple more batches of this recipe when Fall hits so I have a great stock for next Summer.

I have the same hops and was wondering the same thing. That's how I ended up here. If you do a Hefe you'll need 2 or 3 ounces to get the right IBU's. I think I'm going to brew a version of Denny's Son of a Dead Fish Ale Alt recipe with these. It is supposed to be a clone of Dead Guy.

I'll look into that. I used some in Yoopers Fizzy Yellow Beer recipe. Did flavor and aroma additions with em, used Perle for bittering.
